B COMPLEX (B1/B2/B3/B5)

B Complex (IV formulation) typically contains:

  • Vitamin B1 (Thiamine hydrochloride)
  • Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin sodium phosphate)
  • Vitamin B3 (Nicotinamide)
  • Vitamin B5 (Dexpanthenol / Calcium pantothenate)

Always doctor-prescribed and pharmacy-compounded.

General Wellness Dosing

  • Thiamine (B1): 25–100 mg IV
  • Riboflavin (B2): 2–10 mg IV
  • Nicotinamide (B3): 25–100 mg IV
  • Dexpanthenol (B5): 250–500 mg IV

Safety Notes

  • Nicotinamide (B3) may cause warmth/flush sensation if given too fast.
  • Safe for most people, but caution in severe renal impairment or liver disease.
  • Always obtain baseline bloods if doing regular therapy (folate, liver function, kidney function).

Summary Protocol:

  • Add 1–2 ampoules (≈2–4 mL) B Complex to 250–500 mL IV fluids
  • Infuse slowly over 30–60 min
  • Frequency: weekly to fortnightly depending on needs
  • Must be doctor-prescribed, pharmacy-compounded, and TGA-compliant

Common & Mild Adverse Reactions

Often rate-related and transient:

  • Warmth / flushing
  • Nausea
  • Metallic or bitter taste
  • Headache
  • Lightheadedness
  • Mild diaphoresis
  • Urine bright yellow (riboflavin – harmless)
